URGENT: PROTECT MEDICAID FOR LGBTQ+ OLDER PEOPLE
Congressional leadership is doing everything in its power to rip healthcare away from millions of Americans, including LGBTQ+ older people and older people living with HIV.
Cutting Medicaid would devastate our community and we must do everything in our power to fight back and refuse to be invisible.
Medicaid helps LGBTQ+ older people and older people living with HIV by:

Paying for Medicare premiums and other out-of-pocket costs that may otherwise be unaffordable. Remember: A cut to Medicaid is a cut to Medicare

Providing access to home- and community-based services for LGBTQ+ older people who need long-term care and are less likely to have family to care for them

Providing access to life-saving HIV medication, care, and prevention services

Ensuring access to medically-necessary and evidence-based transition-related healthcare for trans people
The cuts that Congressional leadership is currently proposing would compromise access to all of this care, especially threatening home- and community-based services for people who want to age at home and medically-necessary transition-related healthcare for trans older adults.
